Setting your monthly overhead
Monthly overhead — rent, salaries, software subscriptions, anything that doesn't scale per order — can be amortized across each order's profit so the dashboard reflects true bottom-line margin.
- Open Settings → Overhead.
- Enter your total monthly overhead in dollars.
- Choose an allocation method: per order (divides by month's order count) or per revenue dollar (proportional to order revenue).
The default is per order, which is simpler. Per revenue dollar better reflects the cost of bigger orders if your overhead scales with revenue (e.g. headcount that grows with volume).
Leaving overhead at $0 is fine — the P&L just shows operating profit (revenue minus variable costs) without the overhead overlay. Most early-stage stores start there and add overhead once they have a stable number to enter.
