Configuring your credit card fee rate

Credit card / payment processing fees show up as a separate cost line in every profit calculation. The default is 2.9% + 30¢ — standard Shopify Payments online rate.

To change it (e.g. if you're on a custom rate, a 2.4% Plus rate, or use a non-Shopify gateway):

1. Open Settings → Costs.
2. Set the percentage and fixed portion (in cents). Both fields accept decimals.
3. Save. The change applies to all future profit calculations.

For more complex fee structures (different rates per card type, international surcharges), set the rate to your blended average. The product is built on the assumption that one rate per store is close enough — if you need exact precision, contact us and we'll talk about an enhancement.

Historical orders keep the rate they were calculated at.
